Two items -- at least two -- need government regulation: Printer cartridges and mop handles.

There are a couple of things I wouldn’t mind if the government regulated: ink cartridges and mop handles.
Ink cartridges are sold in an large array of cartridges. This basically means each type of printer must use its own kind of ink, which is sometimes more expensive than the printer. This should not be legal. There should be like a USB port for ink. Some sort standard should be adhered to.
Likewise with the mop handles. I have, like, seven mop handles, four mops and five broom heads. Nothing matches. Somebody ought to standardize a system of screwing on or somehow fastening these manual cleaning appliances together.
It seams it is the Wild West when it comes to manufacturing these items. (Although I am pretty sure they are only made in India and China.) Each company has created its own system, many of which are quite ingenius, but unfortunately none of which are interchangable.
Standards should be agreed upon. They should agree on the threading of the mop handles and pin configuration of ink cartridges and the people who break those rules should be taken out and shot.
Problems solved.
Now I’m off to go buy another mop.
