I would recommend traveling and living abroad for anyone. I think it is almost always a positive experience to see the world in a new light and to meet people who view the world in a different way.

I would recommend traveling and living abroad for anyone. I think it is almost always a positive experience to see the world in a new light, and meet people who view the world in a different way.
However, I believe this could be a daunting experience for many, especially those who have not traveled.
By that I mean that many people have gone to different countries but only on some sort of package tour. Or they traveled to a country only to stay at the resort grounds the entire time. I am not sure this qualifies as traveling per se.
I think before living abroad it would be a good idea to travel to several countries beforehand. It would be useful to get a range of experience to help you deal with the complexities and nuances of living in a new place.
One of the hardest things for a newbie traveler or expat to get his or her head around is that in other countries things are just different. Not like home. For me, the differences are the reason for going, but for others these differences can cause anger and resentment.
Do you really want to live abroad? There are pleasures and frustrations waiting to be discovered.
